1. Write one page of dialogue between two characters that shows increasing irritation in both people.
 

2. Choose a character type and have them explain someone's irritation to the reader in one paragraph. You can choose from one of the types below or make up one of your own.
A recovering alcoholic tells about his distrustful wife
A pregnant woman tells about the unwilling father of the baby
A sick old man tells about his healthy wife
A young woman tells about her new boyfriend who is allergic to her cat
 

3. Write a one page character sketch of the most irritating person you can imagine. Then write a three page story in which that person is stuck in an elevator with you. Write in the first person. Do your best to avoid stating how you feel. Instead, show the reader.
